By Car
Woodbridge is well served by the main road routes in England running South to North and West to East. The A12 runs from London to Lowestoft and Woodbridge is just to the east of this route. The West to East A14 route passes a few miles South of Woodbridge linking The Midlands and Hertfordshire to Felixstowe on the East coast.
To head for the centre of town put IP12 1AA into your sat-nav system. This will bring you to the main shopping car park and town centre. The Tourist Information Centre is at the train station, IP12 4AJ, where there is a long stay car park.
Buses
There are many bus services that run to, from and through Woodbridge. Most buses stop at The Turban Centre but many also stop at the train station.
The traveline.org.uk website allows you to select Suffolk as the area, then your destination town or village and then provides bus times and routes.
Trains
Woodbridge has a train station in the heart of the town centre and close to the river. The East Suffolk line (with a station at Woodbridge and at Melton) runs between Ipswich and Lowestoft every hour on weekdays and Saturdays. Passengers from London travel from London Liverpool St to Ipswich and change for the branch line to Woodbridge. Total journey time from London is about 75 minutes.

By Boat
Arrive by boat up The River Deben and you’ll be part of a thousand year old tradition! You can tie up at the Tide Mill Quay for 24 hours on a temporary mooring arrangement if there is room. There is also a marina known as the Tide Mill Yacht Harbour that welcomes visiting boats: www.tidemillyachtharbour.co.uk
By Bike
Woodbridge is on the Sustrans Route 1 National Cycleway and is also a hub for many other cycle routes. See Sustrans.org.uk and local routes from the Tourist Information Centre.
On foot
Woodbridge is on the long distance footpath known as The Sandlings Walk (55 miles, 89 Km) that runs from Rushmere Heath, Ipswich to Southwold through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty- Suffolk Coast & Heaths. Woodbridge offers superb accommodation for walkers following this route.
