Watercolour Basics
This day is all about getting back to the basics, ideal for beginners, those who’ve tried and gotten stuck, or anyone in need of a detailed refresher.
• Understanding materials: types of paper, brushes, paints, and palettes
• Getting the paints to flow: balancing water and paint
• Making colours dance: colour mixing and wet-on-wet techniques
• Adding depth and intensity through layering
• Expressive brushstrokes
These workshops take place in Art Safari’s riverside studio, where there is a wealth of material to be seen from the balcony and around the quayside.
There will be plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits available throughout the day. Lunch is an hour, please bring your own packed lunch, share a pizza or pop into one of the many cafes nearby. It also gives you the opportunity to see the Sutton Hoo ship reconstruction and the Tide Mill around the corner from us.
