The 71st Annual Open Air Carol Service was held on Wednesday 20th December on the Market Hill in Woodbridge with over 800 people enjoying the religious and festive spirit of Christmas.

A voluntary collection raised in the region of £1000 which will be donated to East Anglian Childrens Hospice and other charities supported by Rotary, it is still not too late to make a donation, just go to www.woodbridgerotary.com where you can donate online.

During the service the tree was officially handed over by the clubs President Simon Holloway to the Mayor, Councillor Eamonn O’Nolan who accepted it on behalf of the town.

At the conclusion of the service which this year was conducted by the Rev Charles Trefusis, Father Christmas arrived and gave out sweets to all the children, and one or two adults.

This event can be expensive to stage, but we believe worthwhile, bringing the community together, we are grateful for the help given by Woodbridge Town Council and Mortimers of Woodbridge.

If you are interested in helping the Community as a Rotarian or Friend, please visit our web site where details can be found.

For now, on behalf of Woodbridge Rotary Club, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
