Woodbridge Tide Mill Charitable Trust, responsible for Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum, is looking for a new Chair.

After eight years in the role, John Carrington will be stepping down next year. The Trustees are looking for a successor to initially join the Trustee board as Vice Chair with a view to succeeding John at the next AGM in June 2025.

The Trust is responsible for running and maintaining the Grade I listed Mill, currently the only Tide Mill in the UK milling flour. The Mill is open to the public daily from 1 April to 31 October as a museum and has an extensive learning programme for schools and other student groups.

The Chair is a voluntary position overseeing volunteers and staff that run the Mill, agreeing activities and events, ensuring compliance with regulations, sanctioning fundraising for projects, liaising with grant-givers and ensuring that the Charity achieves its Mission Statement “to preserve and develop the Tide Mill and its Collections as living links to the agricultural, industrial, and maritime heritage of Woodbridge, and to its cultural and social history. The museum endeavours to provide an accessible heritage experience that entertains, educates and inspires all its visitors”.
