In the corner of Elmshurst Park, next to the Bowls Club is a small  vegetable garden run by a group of local residents.

The Elmhurst Kitchen Garden is open to the public on a Saturday morning where you be welcome to look around, free of charge.

This is a working community vegetable garden in that people can visit whilst the members are hard at work.

The garden is maintained by a committee of volunteers who are experts in growing a wide range of edible plants,

people who can plan rotation, prune and grow the plants and vegetables and if you catch them on a Saturday morning

they are very happy to chat and offer any advice you need.

‘The garden is an important space for all our mental and physical well-being, members can enjoy the space, the company of others and produce

without necessarily having to do the physical work that  an allotment would require’

The garden operates on a membership which is open to residents of Woodbridge.

So if you are relaxing in the beautiful Elmhurst Park, take a short walk to the eastern side and wander into the Kitchen Garden.
