We have a fantastic town that has gained widespread national attention, from The Times ‘Best Places to Live’ to the Great British High Street Awards – but our streets do not sparkle as they should at Christmas time. We want to change that.

We want to take the first steps to making Christmas lighting a positive, economic and sustainable event for the town.

We are therefore planning to purchase suitable Christmas street decorations and lighting and build on this year by year. This project will probably take two to three years to fully achieve its potential, but the drive is on to provide the first stage of Christmas decorations this year, starting with the Thoroughfare, Church Street and Market Hill. 
We also plan to investigate the options at Whisstock’s in year two.

Decorations for further streets will be looked into should the campaign prove a success.

Of course there are many challenges and funding is high on the list. Therefore, your help and support is needed to assist us in achieving these goals.

We understand everyone is experiencing the increased cost of living, but we hope by providing Christmas lighting we will bring a little Christmas spirit to the Woodbridge community – and footfall and customers to the local businesses.

We have already enlisted the help and support of our local councils and are also talking to the large businesses to support this project.
