Riverside Trust

The Longshed is the focal point of the Trust’s activities

The Woodbridge Riverside Trust led by enthusiastic members of the local community transformed the area into a vibrant community space with recreational, residential and commercial opportunities.

Born from a derelict boatyard, a result of the demise of the local boat building trade in the 20th century.

The Longshed is the focal point of the Trust’s activities

The Anglo Saxon ship reconstruction in the Longshed is a unique project set up by sister, Sutton Ho Ship’s Company.

The burial ship of King of England, Raedwald was discovered in 1939 at Sutton Hoo. The ship from 1400 years ago, 625 AD was over 90 feet long and contained many treasures.

The reconstruction of this ship at the Longshed is a magnificent project which will span several years.

The Trust is also undertaking the creation of the Longship Tapestry.
